The Event
As Eid Al Adha is approaching,
the Young Druze Professionals are organizing a special event: "THINKING
ABOUT YOU" day at the orphanage house, "Beit Alyateem" in
Obey - Lebanon on February 21st, 2003. We should all know that at
the Beit Alyateem, as we are out celebrating the holidays with our loved
ones, there are some kids that do not leave the orphanage and do not celebrate this Eid due
to their difficult circumstances.
Eid Al Adha is a very
important celebration for the Druze around the world; it has a beautiful
meaning in our religion. The YDP is asking for the support of our
community and all our members worldwide to help make this event a reality
and bring a smile to the children's faces at "Beit Alyateem".
The YDP feels that it is our obligation and duty to help others and we
really care about the Druze orphans that will not be able to be with their
families during this holiday. This is the first year that the YDP
plans such an event for the Druze orphans. We count on your support
and generosity to make this event successful, so that we may hold a
similar event every year during the Adha celebrations, not only in Lebanon
but at all Druze orphanages around the world.

The
Program
What we need from you is so simple. A
small donation from you would go directly (and in full) to Beit Alyateem to celebrate Eid Al Adha. YDP-Lebanon has managed to
bring a theatrical play that will be enjoyed by 400 kids to Beit Alyateem. Pizza and soft drinks would also be provided,
along with gifts and games.
Through the help of the American Druze Society
(ADS), all donations received will be transferred directly to Beit
Alyateem. The ADS transfers 100% of the donations to the Druze charities
(i.e. without any overhead - all processing costs such as mailings, bank
fees, etc. are covered by the ADS). A special thanks to the ADS in helping
us make this happen. |

Budget
The estimated cost for this event is
$2,000 US dollars. This includes the cost for the following: The
Play, Pizza & Soft Drinks, Gifts, etc...A full report of the cost of
the event, how much money were collected and a receipt from Mrs. Nakadi
would be posted on the site. We have all the confidence in the world, that
we would be able to collect the money, simply by having 80 members
donating a one-time payment of $25 US dollars each. Our kids deserve that
from us.
We have created a secure form for the safety of
our members' information. All donations for this worldwide event will be
collected through the internet at this secure site for accountability and management of the funds.
We thank you all for your financial and moral
participation. The YDP, ADS, Beit Alyateem and all the kids wish you Eid
Adha Moubarak to you and your loved ones. |
