THE YOUNG TAWHID/DRUZE PROFESSIONALS (YDP)
MISSION STATEMENT
The YDP is an organization that was established to help the community grow stronger and closer. Our quest for unity and growth is not limited to the professional or social levels. Rather, the YDP envisions literally limitless achievements that can be accomplished on a myriad of levels including, but not limited to: professional advancement; social functions; as well as educational and philanthropic pursuits. While we recognize that this encompasses a large array of activities we nevertheless feel that we must maintain broad goals and objectives.
The YDP seeks to accomplish its goals through networking and increased interaction with members of the community. Our community does not have the benefit of substantial numbers and therefore we must compensate through increased interaction, visibility and solidarity. That being the case, it should be evident that we hope and expect to realize our goals with the support and guidance of the American Druze Society (ADS), the American Druze Foundation (ADF), the Dialogue, the ADS-Net and all the other Tawhid/Druze organizations around the globe which have been created to maintain and improve our community.
These are but a few of the projects which the YDP has undertaken in the past years while we have been busy establishing a solid base from which to operate. Now that the procedural matters have been largely resolved we anticipate rapid development from which our members and the community will benefit.
Major programs that the YDP will aim to develop in order to achieve our mission:
- Circulate YDP directory with the names, addresses and telephone numbers of our members facilitating communication among members and Tawhid/Druze businesses
- Create a quarterly newsletter updating members on YDP events and issues of interest
- Develop communication networks that will help the Tawhid/Druze community grow stronger and closer
- Promote Tawhid/Druze business throughout the world
- Host professional development events including lectures, seminars, counseling and job placement programs
- Host social events giving community members a feeling of unity as well as a chance to interact with one another
- Establish a student referral program and resume review board
- Organize and establish mechanisms for member interaction, meetings, etc.
- Use the resources within the community to achieve our goals
- Design and establish funding mechanisms
- Have an active membership committee
- Develop proactive plans in order to achieve goals
- Job Postings that help both, job seekers and business owners
- Develop and build strong relations with existing Tawhid/Druze Organizations
Business Connections:
One of the YDP's main goals this year is to organize a business and/or services directory. This directory is to provide a location where the community can look for business and service information. The information in the directory will also be provided on our web site. The YDP will provide this service to our community for free. If you know anyone in our community that owns or operates a business or can provide a service please supply us with the initial contact information at info@ydp.com .
YDP Membership Involvement:
The YDP has contacted several of its members who indicated that they would like to be more active. However, if we have not contacted you please understand it is a long process. We request that anyone interested in taking a more active role in the YDP, contact us directly or visit our home page and fill out the member volunteer form. We look forward to hearing from you.
