WHAT IS USR?
The University Student Residence (USR), is a women's association engaged in providing suitable and affordable accommodations for young ladies living in nural areas wishing to continue their higher education in Beirut.
BENEFITS OF USR
1. Making the costs of lodging more affordable.
2. Allowing the students to save on the costs of transportation to and from their hometowns.
3. Allowing them to save on food expenses.
4. COnveniently alloning students to live near their university.
5. Providing students with a safe and moral environment.
AVAILABLE FACILITIES AT USR
Our present capacity is 74 beds distributed and fully paid by the association. The appartments are fully equiped with accommodations that allow for a comfortable living environment for the students. Full time supervisors are always present to provide security and assistance to the residents. Students can also benefit from a library containing a large selection of books.
INTERESTING INFORMATION ABOUT USR
1. A yearly financial contribution is provided to students that apply for financial aid.
2. 30% of students benefited from this aid in 1999.
3. Each year, one Druze orphan is granted accommodation at USR
THE END (or is it just the beginning?)
The managing committe is also planning to secure a suitable lot for the construction of a new fully equiped living facility that will accommodate female students coming from the mountains and villages, in addition to others who are seeking jobs in Beirut.

University Student Residence ( USR) in Beirut, Lebanon, announces
the launch of a new program to accept visiting girl students and their mothers as
guests in their special housing facilities during the months of July,
August and September 2002. These housing accommodations and services are available in Beirut for ladies only at very modest prices (U.S.$ 60.- per month, per person). This price includes all services and guidance in Lebanon during the stay of the guests at USR housing. USR is a charitable Druze institution helping the progress of Druze university students.
