THE YOUNG DRUZE PROFESSIONALS
The Young Druze Professionals Volume 1.1 Page 1
The YDP MESSAGE-- By Nabil N. Kassem Dear Member: It is with great pleasure that we at the Young Druze Professionals
(YDP) publish the first edition of our news letter. This years American Druze Society
(ADS) convention was a mile stone for the YDP. It was at this years convention that the
YDP was able to introduce itself to the Druze community. Since then we have been working
hard to get our organization off the ground. The response from the community has been
outstanding! Currently the YDP boasts over 200 members and our numbers are growing fast. In the short time that the YDP has been functioning as an entity, we
have accomplished a great deal. The YDP has been reaching out to other Druze organizations
in an attempt to consolidate our resources and further unite the Druze community; a data
base has been established from which we will be publishing the directory for our members;
we have expressed our commitment to the ADS and its objectives; and we are continuing to
actively seek new members and in the near future we hope to establish local chapters
throughout the United States, Canada and Lebanon. With respect to the directory you all should have received and returned
the application form which was mailed to you. Remember you will not be listed unless you
respond. It has come to our attention that some members were unaware that their picture
could be submitted along with their information for publishing. As such, we have decided
to extend the deadline for all directory entries. However, for you slackers, do not wait
or you will be left out of the first ever Druze directory! As you may recall, the YDP is open to all members of the Druze
community. Currently the YDP provides its services at no cost. All we are asking is that
you take an active role working with and for the Druze community. Surely each and everyone
of you can do that. The YDP is committed to action and we expect nothing less from our
members. In conclusion I would like to give a very special thanks to two of my
close friends and wonderful colleagues who worked extremely hard in putting together this
newsletter, Chakib R. Jaber and Wael Al-Ali. They have both done an excellent job. I would
also like to thank all of our members. We look forward to hearing from you all in the near
future. Until then, best regards. The American Druze Society (ADS) The YDP supports all the activities of the ADS, The YDP believes that
its members are the future leaders of the Druze community. And as such, we encourage all
YDP members to join the ADS and make a difference. To join the ADS please contact your
local ADS chapter or the ADS regional office at 1-800-637-2955 New Year's Party
